Raised bumps and ridges for the blind.

Some bus stations had as many as 15 numbered pick up spots in their bus circle.

This sign says that the city knows the buses are packed but their resources are stretched to the limit.

More often than not, I took the train. Here's the end of the line for some trains.

Most inner-city trains and subways had these felt seats.

Some trains were decorated on the outside with popular characters.

Other trains were decorated inside and out, like this train to Nara.

Train stations always marked exactly where to form the line for each individual train car.

Typical big city side street. Not much room for pedestrians or bikes.

Some of the traffic lights are also skinny.

Space-saving car parking.

Lots of people ride bikes, and park bikes.

Trash day can be kind of ugly on the streets.

Almost all their electricity is delivered above ground.

Custom manhole covers are common and some people like to collect photos of them.

A couple of inner-city front yards.

Video of an interesting water feature outside a business building.
Interesting building exteriors.

I saw at least 3 instances in one day of 2nd floor hair stylists overlooking the street.

A small stream and bridge that created an island inside the shop.

I don't know how often this is true in Japan, but if you accidentally push the wrong elevator button at this hotel, just push the button again and it will deactivate. Now I have to try this in U.S. hotels and see.

The Tokyo International Airport (no, the other one) is fancy inside.
