I spent 1 night in Nikko. I planned to spend 2 nights, and have more time for sightseeing, but I lost my first night. The plane leaving Austin was broken, they had to find a replacement plane, we left 2 hours late, I missed my connecting flight in California, and I had to wait 12 hours (until after midnight) for the next plane to Japan. I arrived in Tokyo and immediately took connecting trains to Nikko.
Entering Nikko by bus. It's a small town and I walked everywhere.

Rating Kegan Falls: B
A decent destination but don't go out of your way just for Kegan Falls. There are other falls, shrines, the lake, and sightseeing trails through various biomes around Nikko.
I also visited the Niko Natural Science Museum, which was quaint but at least it was indoors and warm. It rained a lot, it was cold, I was late arriving in town, and I was worn out from very little sleep in the 30+ hours between Austin and Japan, so my other plans in Nikko went bye-bye.
